The Kisii Konya Oroiboro Project (KIKOP) is committed to creating a sustainable, community-based healthcare system free of maternal and child deaths. KIKOP began in 2018 as a partnership between Curamericas Global and the Kisii County Ministry of Health. Our strategies to accomplish our program goal include increasing access to quality, respectful maternal and newborn services, improving attention to obstetric emergencies, increasing provision of essential newborn care and reducing child stunting in children under the age of 2. Words from Alisha Hardas
Hi Everyone!
I am a MPH Epidemiology student at UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health. This summer I am partnering with Curamericas Global and the KIKOP Kenya MNCH Project. I will be traveling to the Kitutu Chache Sub-County of Kisii, Kenya to aid in the reduction of infant, child, and maternal mortality through community driven health education and health facility improvement. Our aim is to serve the approximately 36,000 beneficiaries within the sub-counties of Kisii, including women of reproductive age, adolescents, and children under the age of two. The KIKOP Kenya MNCH Project is run by a team of dedicated public health and healthcare professionals who seek to provide both care and education to members of the community. A donation to this page will aid volunteers, like myself, in covering living and travel expenses, allowing us to dedicate our time to the mothers and children of Kisii, Kenya.
