Project Overview

With funding from the CDC, we established an HIV prevention project in Haiti, which is now operated through our partner, the Haitian Ministry of Health. This project provided HIV education and prevention services to more than 100,000 Haitian women and men. As part of this project we tested for sexually transmitted infections and provided HIV testing for women and men, including women who are pregnant. We also educated men and women about ways to prevent transmission and encouraged pre-teens to participate in events that promoted HIV prevention through abstinence.
